Alcohol Action Ireland appoints a new Policy and Advocacy Officer

Alcohol Action Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Catherine Keane as its new Policy and Advocacy Officer.

Catherine is a qualified solicitor with significant policy development experience at an Irish and EU level, having worked for the Fine Gael Leader’s Office in Leinster House and for former MEP Avril Doyle in the European Parliament, Brussels.

She worked in private practice as a civil litigation and employment law solicitor before taking up her role with Alcohol Action Ireland.

She brings a wealth of experience in the area of policy, which will enable her to make a significant contribution to our ongoing work to reduce alcohol-related harm in Ireland,” said Conor Cullen, Communications Officer with Alcohol Action Ireland.

Catherine’s responsibilities with Alcohol Action Ireland include contributing to the development and implementation of Alcohol Action Ireland’s advocacy strategy; project managing key research projects; identifying, managing and developing policy proposals to advance Alcohol Action Ireland’s public affairs remit and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.

Catherine is a graduate of UCD and holds a Master of Public Relations from DIT, a Diploma in Employment Law from the Law Society of Ireland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Development from DIT and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland.
