A Dáil committee is recommending that alcohol-free sporting facilities should be provided for young people in the evenings.
The committee examined the role sport can play in offering an alternative to underage drinking and is also recommending that alcohol advertising in sport be phased out.
It also recommends the development of the P.E. syllabus and sporting activities within schools to encourage physical activity amongst young people.
