Employers who serve alcohol at company sponsored events need to be aware that if an employee is over the limit for alcohol at a roadside Garda (Police) checkpoint after a company sponsored reception or training and is involved in a serious road accident afterwards, under Section 80 (1) of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (SHWW) Act 2005, company directors and managers may have personal liability.

The seminars will outline policies, procedures, risk assessments and control measures to comply with Section 13(1) b of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and provide policies and procedures to manage employees who report for or are on duty under the influence of intoxicants.
