Following on from Alcohol Action Ireland’s Keeping It in the Family campaign raising awareness about the estimated 100,000 children whose lives are negatively impacted by their parents drinking, the charity is co-hosting a seminar looking at ways to support children living with parental substance misuse.
The A Family Affair? Supporting children with parental substance misuse seminar will consider how policy and services can be more effective in supporting children in families where there are drug and alcohol problems.
Minister of State with Department of Health RóisÃn Shortall TD will deliver the opening address at the seminar, which is being co-hosted alongside the National Advisory Committee on Drugs (NACD) and HSE Social inclusion.
