Proposed alcohol law changes do not go far enough to tackle alcohol-related harm, a team of scientists say. The Alcohol Reform Bill, which would affect bar hours, off-licence trading, liquor advertising and the purchase age, is being considered by a parliamentary committee.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has called for comment on a plan to reduce the minimum alcohol levels in Australian wine, after the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia applied to reduce the minimum level for flat and sparkling wine from 8% to 4.
