Alcohol Action Ireland has published its 2022 Annual Review.
We very much welcome a number of positive developments in alcohol policy during the year including the introduction of Minimum Unit Pricing of alcohol and the publication of the government’s alcohol labelling regulations – two key measures for which we strongly advocated.
We have also significantly strengthened our evidence base and campaigned across a range of alcohol issues.
Major highlights for our 2022 activities include:
- End the Silence campaign week raising awareness of the issues arising from growing up with alcohol harm in the home
- Publication of Global Burden of Disease: Estimates of Alcohol Use and Burden in Ireland – research led by colleagues in University College Cork
- Raising the Bar – Alcohol Market Review 2022
- Campaign to support Ireland’s alcohol labelling regulations
- WHO Europe Alcohol Programme visit to Ireland
- 32 reports and submissions produced on alcohol issues
- 481 media contributions
We thank all of our partners, contributors and supporters and look forward to building on this progress.
