Ireland has one of the highest rates of cancer in the world – with alcohol one of the causes of the condition.
That’s according to the Irish Cancer Society who will attend the European Week Against Cancer conference in Dublin today.
The event will hear calls for the Irish government to ban alcohol advertisements and sponsorships and to outline how cancer can be prevented.

This special conference will also hear that more than one third of all cancers can be prevented.
The aim of the event is to outline how cancer can be prevented and promote the European Code Against Cancer.
