Royal College of Physicians of Ireland Alcohol Policy Group hosts first public meeting

Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Alcohol Policy Group will hold their first public meeting of the 2013/2014 series, “Join the National Conversation on Alcohol; Who’s calling the shots?“, on Monday September 23 in RCPI, No. 6 Kildare St at 6 p.m. The event, which will be chaired by a well known radio personality, has been organised by the policy group to highlight their concerns around alcohol consumption in Ireland.

Dr Stephen Stewart, Gastroenterologist, Centre for Liver Disease in the Mater Hospital and Dr Bobby Smyth, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, Colette Quinn, Director Juvenile Diversion Programme, An Garda Síochána and John Buckley from Spunout.ie are among the speakers at the event, discussing and informing the public on areas such as healthy alcohol consumption and binge drinking, mental health issues, underage drinking and alternatives to the binge drinking culture. The public meeting, which is free of charge, will include a Q&A session for all who attend to put forward their questions to the panel of experts.

Registration is at 6pm and the meeting with commence at 6.30pm. Places are limited so early registration is advised.
