A teenager was able to use a fake identity card featuring a photo of a cartoon character to buy alcohol during an undercover sting by trading standards officers.
His fake ID featured a photo of Bobby Hill, from the TV show King of the Hill and said he was 17. But six out of 22 shops in Nottinghamshire served the 18-year-old, despite him showing them the card when asked for ID. Seven others served him without asking his age. Nottinghamshire County Council said it wanted all retailers to adopt the Challenge 25 policy, and that it would “advise” the shops concerned.
