We are delighted to have been selected to feature in the most recent EU Protects campaign created by the European Commission. It provides information on how Europe contributes to the protection of its citizens from the diverse global risks and challenges that we face today; challenges to our borders and our health, our environment and our homes, our families and our neighbours.
In 2016, with the assistance of a small National Lottery award, Alcohol Action Ireland were afforded the opportunity to develop deeper ties with a range of alliances and stakeholders across Europe, and within the institutions of the European Union.
This opportunity has been central to our advocacy successes in recent times and the Pan-European network we have been able to foster, and expand, has been an invaluable and enriching to our work.
Europeans are facing an increasingly complicated, difficult and testing world; a world where safety, protection and cooperation are paramount. The EU plays a critical role in coordinating resources between Member States to help, save or protect citizens.
